As a Women's Ministry our desire is to see women - of all ages, cultures, walks of life and spiritual journeys - be encouraged to love Jesus more, be enriched by journeying together through community, and be empowered to live a life bringing hope!
Each of us are vessels handmade by God, with a special purpose in mind. As women of WoodsEdge, our heart is that each of us would pursue that purpose and find our place to connect, grow and serve. In doing so, we make an impact in our own lives and those around us - one life at a time. For an audience of one (Jesus), and for the sake of one (others), we passionately pursue being his vessels filled up, so we can be poured out.
Visit the various areas below for further information on all that is available and happening in WoodsEdge Women's Ministry. We warmly welcome you and are truly excited to be in this passionate pursuit of Jesus together with you!
Colossians 1:9 - be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding…
One of the greatest ways to be filled is to spend time in the presence of Jesus and in his Word. We are told not to forsake getting together, and as women, we love to do just that. Our Bible studies provide an opportunity to grow in knowledge and spiritual understanding as we go deep through avenues of worship, teaching, exploring the Word, and small group discussion times.
We encourage you to join us as we passionately pursue being filled up to be poured out - for an audience of One, and for the sake of one!
Colossians 3: 12-14 - Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience...bearing with one another…And above all these put on love…
In friendly, safe and open environments, come experience the richness of community and be encouraged, enriched and empowered by journeying together with other women through various support groups/classes/Bible Studies. You will be blessed by the love you receive from the Lord and other women!
In One and for one, filled up to pour out!
This summer, our Starting Right group will be hosting an online book study, Intimate Issues, written by Linda Dillow. As we journey together through this material, we are thrilled to have our very own, Rose Claxton & Sandra Ikle, lead the discussion. Both Rose & Sandra have been a part of WoodsEdge for many years and have actively been speaking into women’s lives through their ministry, Wife Club, for 12 years. You will be blessed as they bring to you the truth of God’s Word through a vast array of experiences, humor and wisdom.
Intimate Issues answers twenty-one questions about sex most frequently asked by Christian wives, as determined by a nationwide poll of over one thousand women. Join us as we seek God’s perspective on sex with practical and creative ideas for enhancing your physical relationship with your husband in a confidential, loving, and fun space.
You can purchase the book through your preferred vendor or through Amazon.

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7
The heart of BLOOM is to see the women of WoodsEdge Community Church be firmly rooted in Jesus and the living Word of God. We believe a discipleship and mentoring relationship between an older woman with wisdom in following Christ and a younger woman can be rich soil for foundational spiritual growth. BLOOM will connect women in a mentoring relationship to equip, encourage and challenge one another in their walk with Jesus through every season of life.
Colossians 4:17 - See that you fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord.
As a church we are so thankful for individuals that serve in the body of WoodsEdge. As each of us have been handcrafted by God as vessels for a purpose, there are many opportunities to use your unique giftings for his glory. What makes you come alive? What makes your heart tick? Or what is the Lord wanting to stretch you in? Whatever your answer, there is a place for you!
Whether you know already where you would like to serve, or if you would simply like more information please let us know! As a body, we need you.
Please click the button below to fill out our serve interest form. You will then be contacted shortly about the team you have selected and the upcoming opportunities.
Colossians 3:1-2 - If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
We are called to live with eternity in mind and in doing so spread the light and life of Christ. Women of WoodsEdge desire to fulfill God’s commission and the mission of our church.
Through various opportunities and outreach ministries, we encourage you to join us in reaching out to the world to bring the hope of Christ.
The Sleeping Mats for the Homeless Ministry takes recycled bags and converts them into sleeping mats. We cut the bags into loops, connect the loops into strips and then crochet or knit the strips into mats. Help is needed for each step and crochet and knit instruction is available if desired.

Exciting news: WINGS Ministry Freedom Through Transformation, one of our Outside the Wall partners, has reached two long dreamed of goals: hosting their first fundraiser, benefiting WINGS Ministries, and the launching of their “Butterfly Transformation Scholarship” program to benefit WINGS graduates who want to get their GED, attend vocational school or pursue their college degree.
WINGS Ministries is extremely grateful to Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum for choosing WINGS as a spotlight charity to perform their famous “Petticoats and Parasols” fashion show which is a period fashion show with authentic fashions from the 1800's to the 1980's . As women at WoodsEdge, we are aligned with WoodsEdge's view on Prayer: Prayer is the real work. As the women, we want to engage in the real work and gather together in prayer on a regular basis. We want to be equipped in the service of praying for others and growing in our relationships with the Lord.
The Women's Prayer Team meets monthly. We gather for two hours to glean truths about prayer from God's Word and to pray for WoodsEdge, the women at our church, our community, and each other. By joining together, we appeal to our Loving Father and continue to grow more towards Houston being a City of God. Any woman of WoodsEdge is welcome to join us.
